Abstract

The author made an attempt to trace the interaction of Chinese and Russian public organizations throughout the 20^th century. She identifies three distinct stages of cooperation: the beginning of the century before the formation of the PRC; 1950-1970; the period of reform and opening up in China. The author examines the role of friendship societies, business associations, affinity groups and йmigrй organizations in the cultural mutual learning between Russia and China, the development of their bilateral relations.
