Abstract
The development of a real Spanish-American society of knowledge should be an aim of our societies. The incorporation of the Spanish-speaking community to the information society is uneven. Although the Spanish language (with almost 133 millions of users) is found only behind English and Chinese, among with the opportunities of communication and accessing to information the rise of connectivity has generated new divides. The Institute Cervantes has bet for the application of the information and communication technologies in order to diffuse the language and the culture in Spanish, basically by its institutional Internet platform
