Abstract
The author retrace the history of Latin American cinematographic art from the middle of the 20th century, i.e. from that significant period of its formation when national originality came to be considered as a common phenomenon for all countries of the continent. As a result, Latin America could take an absolutely peculiar place in the vast space of the world culture since the fact of its cultural originality had been understood not only by its own cultural workers, but also by the world cultural association
