Abstract

Cooperation with the countries included in the BRICS association is one of the key areas of the PRC foreign policy. The importance of this interaction format is complemented for China by the continuing challenges of effective joint activities. At the same time, in the conditions of growing instability in international relations, the relevance of using “soft” tools will increase. The article analyzes the essence of the concept of “soft power”, its specifics for Beijing and the range of instruments for its use by the PRC in the partner countries, as well as their effectiveness at this stage.
