Abstract

Ideology is seen not only as a system of ideas, but also as a system of institutions rein-forced by new communication technologies (from preaching to machine brainwashing). Deideologization of the 1990s is replaced by the reconstruction of a quasi-ideocracy, in which ideas are secondary and dependent on the political conjuncture. The fatigue of society from the dominance of Soviet ideology gives rise to the following effects: 1) ideological idiosyncrasy; 2) "shadow ideology" – an analogue of the shadow economy (the state as an ideological partisan); 3) "latent" ideology – the ideological unconscious, acting als ob, "as if" the subjects were carriers of explicit ideologies. Representations of the parallel existence of ideology along with politics, science, culture, economics, etc. are supplemented by a diffuse model of "included" ideology (for example, with a distinction of positions: "science and ideology" and "ideology in science"). According to the scheme of the political constitution of Karl Schmitt, the concept of ideology is based on axial oppositions "faith-knowledge", "goals-values", "interests-principles". In this single continuum, belonging to the poles of philosophy or ideology is determined not by content itself, but by intention-directedness or reflexive criticism of "evidence", or by rigid dogmatization.
